Child and Youth Care Specialist

**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children in your care at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Assist children with daily tasks such as eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring all play areas are safe and welcoming.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding the child’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Provide support for children with special needs or disabilities as required.
- Document daily activities, behaviors, and any incidents that occur during care.
**Skills**
- Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards children’s needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting young children or assisting with mobility).
- Familiarity with case management practices to effectively coordinate care for children with specific needs.
- Knowledge of cultural differences and requirements for a healing journey.
- Understanding of medical terminology is advantageous for communicating effectively about health-related issues.
