**Program Deliverables**:

- Provide access to naloxone kits for people who are likely to witness opioid poisoning, including people who use opioids, and their family and friends;
- Provide opioid poisoning education so that bystander administration of naloxone is effective;
- Create contact points and referrals to supportive services for individuals;
- Provide support for individuals to receive health care services;
- Review progress with individuals when there is an opportunity and promote treatment and recovery pathways;
- Improve access to equitable healthcare, knowledge transfer, and community development in a trauma-informed environment; and
- Complete data collection and generate reports.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver opioid poisoning prevention and response training, including naloxone administration, to individuals and groups, including to people with living experience of substance use, community partners, colleagues, and the general public;
- Actively pursue relationships with target populations and develop community partnerships.
- Support clients and communities in a busy drop-in setting and through outreach services, focused on case management, mental health support, including crisis de-escalation, and referrals, by:

- Providing navigation support to action referrals for individuals at high risk of opioid poisoning,
- Accompany individuals at high risk of opioid poisoning to medical and mental health appointments to promote effective communication with providers and to provide emotional support,
- Proactively seeking indicators of learning readiness among drop-in attendees to provide opioid poisoning prevention and response teaching on an impromptu basis,
- Contribute to the provision of drop-in operational supports (reception desk, supply distribution counter, stocking/cleaning, etc.)
- Facilitate the distribution and inventory management of naloxone kits;
- Deliver outreach-based health promotion activities focused on opioid poisoning prevention, wellness, treatment, and recovery linkages;
- Represent Turning Point Society in public activities;
- Conduct routine data collection, entry, and reporting;
- Participate in regular staff meetings, training, and organizational activities; and
- Other duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**:
To be considered for this role, please provide evidence of the following qualifications:

- Preference for a completed diploma or degree in Social Work, Community Addictions Support, Education, Health Promotion, or a related field;
- 2 - 4 years of experience in areas such as supporting people who use drugs, supporting unhoused people, health promotion, public health, and community development;
- Sound knowledge of overdose prevention and response;
- Commitment to harm reduction principles and trauma-informed care;
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills;
- Exceptional relationship building skills and the ability to successfully engage target populations;
- Training in suicide prevention and non-violent crisis intervention considered an asset;
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle; and
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
