**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**

**Leadership & Team Management**
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Maintenance Department, ensuring effective workforce management.
- Recruit, train, and mentor unionized maintenance employees, fostering a high-performance team.
- Provide clear direction, set expectations, and support employees in achieving departmental goals.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations to encourage employee development.
- Address workplace issues and conduct difficult conversations with professionalism and fairness.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legislation, and Collective Agreements while managing employee discipline and corrective actions.

**Operations & Fleet Maintenance**
- Plan, organize, and oversee maintenance activities to ensure optimal fleet performance.
- Develop and implement policies and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the Maintenance Department.
- Manage work schedules, assigning tasks to maximize productivity while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Oversee shop inventory and ensure adequate supplies of parts and equipment.
- Utilize the OPS system to manage parts, monitor vehicle maintenance, and enter new vehicles into the system.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of vehicle maintenance and repair records.
- Review and coordinate safety inspections and licensing schedules for all fleet vehicles.

**Health & Safety Compliance**
- Promote and ensure a safe working environment by adhering to occupational health and safety standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections, safety training sessions, and incident/accident investigations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace that meets safety regulations.

**Administrative & Strategic Duties**
- Assist in the vehicle tendering process,
- Authorize and input timecard data for maintenance staff.
- Coordinate employee work hours to ensure operational coverage and efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in maintenance operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Job Specifications**

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Must possess a valid 310S Automotive Service Technician license.
- Minimum five years of fleet management experience in a unionized transportation environment preferred.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of MTO regulations and WHMIS training is required.
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract.

**Physical & Work Environment Requirements**
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, stretching, and squatting to conduct inspections and repairs.
- Must have good vision to inspect repair work accurately.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
