Toronto, Canada Your Kids Heart Full time

Looking for a recent graduate (or soon to graduate) Paediatric Cardiologist to join 2 Community Paediatric Cardiologists in Toronto servicing the north central and eastern Greater Toronto Area as well as Central East Ontario.

We provide inpatient consultations on neonates and children in several of the community nurseries and children's units. We provide fetal echo assessments with referrals from a large obstetrical care network and two genetic centres. One in five of our patients are for a fetal consultation. As well in our office we see children from newborn to their 18th birthday. We work closely with the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and network with the other cardiac centres in Ontario (CHEO, London, Kingston, McMaster).

We have one main clinic location in Toronto East with several outreach clinics including North York, Oshawa, Barrie, Orillia and Peterborough.

Our friendly and dedicated staff include 2 paediatric nurses, 4 sonographers and 5 admin staff.

We do previsit telephone histories for appropriate triaging of visits.

Toronto and it's regions are a rapidly growing and very diverse community. English proficiency is required and a second language is an asset.

We are looking for a great communicator who enjoys working with families and colleagues.

We are on provincial government fee for service and have an expense sharing program.

You can come on a temporary trial position or try a locum position with the ability to become a permanent team member.

We do teach third year U of T medical students as well as some family practice residents and other residents in the U of T program.

You should have done some training in Canada preferably and have done or will be doing the Royal College certification in Paediatric Cardiology or hold its equivalent. You will need to be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

You need to be proficient in fetal and pediatric echo, holter, ecg and exercise testing.

We also have joint clinics with two paediatricians to deal with children presenting with broader issues such as fatigue, chest pain, syncope and palpitations.

We look forward to growing our program with creating and maintaining innovation and quality of care.
