**Description**

Badger is currently seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join the supply chain group at our Red Deer location.
The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating tactical and strategic procurement requirements. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the coordination of daily procurement activities and sourcing projects to support manufacturing operations as well as strategic sourcing initiatives. This position will require occasional travel to vendor sites along with continuous interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing, Fleet and Operations.
- Coordinate daily procurement activities and ensure that all goods are purchased in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Conduct frequent materials requirements planning to ensure that delivery schedules align with manufacturing requirements.
- Coordinate sourcing projects for prototype builds, including all required planning, sourcing, and data tracking activities
- Consult with Manufacturing and Engineering to develop and maintain technical specifications and requirements.
- Update and maintain bill of materials for different product lines and cut in engineering change orders as they are released, in close collaboration with engineering and the materials team.
- RFX Process: Develop and issue RFPs (Request for Proposals) for selected categories, evaluate responses based on pre-determined evaluation criteria, support the negotiation of contract terms including products / services delivery, timelines and discounts, finalize contracts and monitor vendor performance on a continuous basis.
- Continually looks for areas where costs can be reduced, and processes can be improved without sacrificing quality.
- Maintain healthy, reliable, and positive relationships with vendors and develop strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure Badger obtains best value for money, preferred terms and conditions, and quality customer service.
- Participate in cross-functional, continuous improvement teams as the opportunity presents itself.
- Willing to learn and follow Alberta Occupational Health Safety Legislation requirements and adhere to all Badger guiding principles and safety policies.
- Cooperate with the Management and Leadership team in Identifying hazards, and if necessary, Refuse unsafe Work.
- Participate in all scheduled training identified by the leadership group.

- Degree or training in supply chain management, procurement or business admiration is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of common software packages (MS Office, Acrobat, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems (especially Oracle & Sage) is considered a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset and experience with data analysis is considered an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach.
- Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
- Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole.
- High level of personal integrity.
