This role integrates structured project planning methodologies to ensure process improvement initiatives are effectively implemented. Additionally, the Quality Specialist will support accreditation readiness, key performance metric (KPI) identification, scorecard development, and performance metric tracking.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or engineering
- Member of a regulated health profession, in good standing
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in progressively responsible roles related to process improvement, quality management, or healthcare operations
- Experience working in a clinical environment with knowledge of hospital operations is an asset
- LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Root Cause Analysis framework.
- Demonstrated experience in leading process improvement projects
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent facilitation, instruction, coaching, and communication abilities
- Proficiency in process mapping and improvement software (e.g., Visio, MiniTab)
- Experience in accreditation processes, scorecard development, and performance metric tracking
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization, staff, physicians and volunteers
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
- Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
**Preferred**
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field
- Experience in hospital or healthcare settings
- Certification in Change Management (e.g., PROSCI)
