**The Role**:
The Network Administrator II is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and optimal performance. The role involves ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the IT infrastructure environments on-premises and in the cloud. The role requires knowledge and management of virtualization, operating systems, storage and server hardware.

**Responsibilities**:

- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
- Regularly monitor system performance, identify issues, and take proactive measures to prevent downtime.
- Manage appropriate security and high availability configurations to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to server and virtual infrastructure.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of the environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement automation scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls using tools such as LDAP, Kerberos, or Active Directory integration.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and conduct regular tests to ensure preparedness.
- Ensure the systems are backed up based on the business requirements
- Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure timely resolution of problems.
- Respond to system alerts to remediate issues within defined SLAs.
- Conduct capacity planning and scaling to meet the organization's growing needs.
- Administer M365 and Azure environment
- Support audits and compliance reviews

**Must be able to perform the following tasks as assigned -**Linux**
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., Red Hat, SuSE, Rocky, CentOS, Ubuntu) across physical and virtual environments.
- Automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency using shell scripting, Python, or other scripting languages. Manage configuration with tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- Install, update, and manage open-source and commercial software packages. Compile and install software from source as needed.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies.
- Hands-on experience with storage solutions, such as SAN, NAS, and cloud storage platforms.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Hands-on experience administering Windows and Linux servers.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Backup solutions
- 4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role in an enterprise environment with over 100 Linux hosts
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, SuSE, Rocky, CentOS, Ubuntu) and their core services.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SNMP, SolarWinds Orion, Zabbix or similar.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash, Python, Ruby, or Perl.
- Certificate lifecycle management

**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
**Experience**:
8 years of overall relevant experience in Network Administration A combination of other pertinent education/experience could be considered
**Linguistic Level**:
Knowledge of French and English is essential (spoken and written).
