**Interior Design and Project Management Specialist**
Overview:
The Design and Project Management Specialist will support our growing Furniture division. As we significantly expand our product portfolio, we have the need for internal expertise in understanding the latest technology trends in how commercial furniture is specified and presented. In addition, as customer needs become more complex, project management skills are required to see projects through from inception to completion.
The Design and Project Management Specialist will:
- Support sales staff by providing visual materials for customers including 2D layouts, 3D renderings, and other presentation materials
- Work with Product Engineer to develop a working library of usable CAD symbols. Responsible for maintaining this library on an ongoing basis.
- Be primary liaison with CET, ProjectMatrix, KiSP, and other 3rd party design platforms
- Responsible for all phases of the design process from project conception through to working drawings and project closeout. This includes furniture presentation and plans and assisting with installation plans as needed
- As a product expert, will increase company revenue by specifying and recommending additional products and accessories into projects
- Help develop education modules in order to train sales and other staff on new products
- Assist with competitive analysis during product development phase. Research competitive products and have a firm understanding of industry landscape
- Support Division heads with special projects as needed
**Requirements**:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD to develop 2D layouts and floorplans.
- Experience with 3D modelling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D, SketchUp) an asset
- Experience working with CET and/or Project Matrix (Configura) a strong plus
- Excellent space planning and layout development skills
- Extensive experience working on multiple projects and successfully managing priorities, conflicting deadlines and various demands
- Working knowledge of contract furniture and commercial furnishings industry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail oriented, organized and process driven Location:
