**About us**

The **Rivoli** is a bar, restaurant and performance space, established in 1982, on Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are looking for a bartender for our Side Bar, which acts as a welcome bar for all live music shows, comedy shows, and DJ dance parties in the Rivoli Backroom. It also operates as service bar for the dining room and patio. Shifts from Wednesday to Sunday.

Side Bartender duties and responsibilities

  • Making cocktails, mixed drinks, pouring draft beer as well as selling bottled and canned beers
  • Serving guests in dining room/patio (table service) when there is no assigned server or when business levels require it.
  • Operating point of sale terminals and providing bills to customers
  • Collecting payments from customers
  • Cleaning the bar and the area around it
  • Operating blenders, coffee makers, snow cone makers, and other equipment
  • Washing glassware and bar utensils
  • Wiping dining room/patio tables
  • Working as venue contact for special events and shows when there is no supervisor on duty
  • Monitoring bar inventory and ordering supplies and ingredients when needed
  • Working with management team to organize specials and promotions for the bars and the restaurant
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, provincial or territorial liquor and food safety regulations
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Side Bartender skills and qualifications

  • Good work ethic
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills and the ability to keep track of customer tabs
  • Mixology or the ability to make traditional cocktails and create new ones
  • Able to upsell and increase average check amounts
  • An ability to build a regular crowd and grow daily and monthly revenues
  • Familiarity with local liquor laws and the ability to enforce them
  • Food safety and preparation skills including an understanding of how viruses and bacteria can spread

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
