**Responsibilities & Duties**:
Responsible for repair, overhaul, modification, test, diagnose and inspect faults of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical assemblies, and sub-assemblies, of aircraft mechanical and hydraulic and oil systems. Responsible for providing non-destructive testing services to aerospace components, shop equipment’s including aircraft mechanical and hydraulic systems which have already been removed from aircraft.
**TASKS/DUTIES**:
- Interpret Component Maintenance and Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, customer requirements, and other technical data approved by the administrator required to perform the repair and overhaul duties at an expert level.
- Repair/overhaul and assemble the unit in accordance with required technical data to return the unit to service.
- Perform final test of unit in accordance with approved data to determine eligibility for return to service.
- Prepare and maintain all detailed repair, inspection and certification records and reports pertaining to his/her work using the applicable data capturing process.
- Process units in accordance with Quality Management System and Quality Manual (Maintenance Policy Manual).
- Identify opportunities and solutions to leadership regarding process improvement opportunities or potential risks.
- Be involved in investigations related to product failures, escapes, defects, and low time removals.
- Clear understanding and experience of various NDT methodologies.
- Inspection activities including, receipt inspection of incoming materials, examinations on samples of products and equipment and physical examination of equipment.
- Testing includes non-destructive testing of welds and component assemblies.
- Calibration of equipment’s.
- Update inspection files.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Applicants must have the ability to work flexible hours.
- Write required NDT reports.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Legislation.
- Perform other related duties as required.
**SKILLS REQUIRED**:
- Ability to read and understand Hydraulic, Pneumatic Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and other associated data pertaining to maintenance.
- Must have good manual dexterity and hand eye co-ordination
- Demonstrated PC skills, including: MS Office 2007, Excel, Word etc.
- Ability to remove and install required electronic and/or mechanical components.
- Strong work ethic, dedication to customer service
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
- Understand applicable Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations, customer and repair/overhaul requirements for products.
- Be able to read, write, and speak the English language at a working level.
- Ability to mentor and train others to the level of certification.
- Ability to communicate to leadership, customers and suppliers.
- Strong documentation skills for keeping record of inspection procedures and inspection results.
**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the aerospace industry working on aircraft components
- CGSB Level 2 Liquid Penetrant Testing & Magnetic Particle Testing technicians certified
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a NDT Tech at Level 2, LPI & MPI
- Experience related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, and aerospace products would be an asset.
**EDUCATION REQUIRED**:
- Technical College diploma or equivalent experience.
**CERTIFICATES REQUIRED**:
- CGSB Level 2 Technicians
**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
