The North Perth Fire Department is seeking a **Fire Prevention Officer**to join their team

The Fire Prevention Officer provides effective and efficient administrative, clerical and reception support to the Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Chief. This role will also be required to complete fire safety inspections and provide public fire safety education programs to prevent or reduce the incidence of fire.
- 3 years’ experience in a municipal administrative and fire prevention role. Experience with emergency management would be considered an asset.
- Experience conducting plans examination of new construction, delivering public education programs and facilitating prosecutions.
- Secondary School Diploma
- Basic Emergency Management (BEM)
- Building Code Identification Number (BCIN): General Legal and Fire Protection, or willingness to obtain.
- NFPA 1031, Level I & II Fire Inspector Certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Legislation;
- NFPA 472 or NFPA 1072 Hazardous Material Awareness;
- OFC Part 2 & 6;
- OFC Part 3 & 5,
- OFC Part 4;
- OFC Part 9;
- Courtroom Procedures;- PSHSA Vulnerable Occupancy training.
- NFPA 1035, Level I & II Public Educator Certification, or willingness to obtain.
- NFPA 1041, Fire Service Instructor Certification, or willingness to obtain.

The current salary range for this position is $42.54 - $53.17 per hour based on a 35-hour workweek. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications. North Perth offers a comprehensive benefits and pension plan. Applications are being accepted until **May 23, 2025**.
