**Position Overview**
**Responsibilities**
The Supervisor of Licensing and Permit Administration is responsible for:
- Overseeing the business, customer service and administrative processes for the Building Section to ensure smooth flow and continuation of turnaround times;
- Responsible for hiring, training, developing, disciplining and evaluation of staff
- Reviewing existing policies, procedures, practices and tasks
- Monitoring the department's accounts including revenue and statistics. Developing and managing section budget;
- Ensuring financial management practices are followed in the areas of cash handling, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
- Resolving questions and providing technical guidance to staff and participating in more difficult or complex functions.
**Requirements**:
Applicants must have a College Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent and five (5) years of supervisory experience. Assets include a working knowledge of municipal by-laws, business and lottery licensing and permit processing. Experience working with property information software such as Amanda is preferred. As team leader, the incumbent will have the ability to make decisions and take initiative as well as have strong communication and conflict management skills. This requires knowledge and experience in the public governmental permitting and licensing sector. This position may require occasional travel between sites and/or City facilities.
