The Strathcona Hotel, in the heart of beautiful Victoria British Columbia is looking to hire a reliable, mature and energetic individual to join our Front Desk team. Previous accounting experience is not mandatory. Shift hours: 11:30pm to 7:30am Availability is required for: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights - flexibility is a requisite Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to: - Check-in late night arrivals - Check-out early morning departures - Create new reservations for walk in guests, and create, modify, and cancel reservations for future stays - Answer telephone enquiries about the hotel and attached venues - Assist guests in house with requests and concerns - Work with the Security team to ensure the comfort of hotel guests, and ensure quiet time and occupancy policies are adhered to - Assist team members with cashing out, and signing in/out keys We offer: - 50% off meals while working or when visiting as a guest - 10% at the Strath Ale Wine and Spirit Merchants - Health and dental benefits - Opportunity to attend free shows and events - Fun work environment with opportunities for development and career advancement **REQUIREMENTS**: - Passion for guest service - Excellent interpersonal and time management skills - Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral - Must be a team oriented & motivated individual - Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure - Knowledge of Word, Excel and Property Management Systems - Cash handling and processing experience - Knowledge of Victoria and surrounding area and attractions - Night audit experience an asset Located in the heart of Victoria BC, the Strathcona Hotel is a stunning Victorian landmark that dates back to the historic gold rush area of the region.
