**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Junior Facilities Planner for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Facilities Projects Admin, Infrastructure Planning & Management department. In this role you will assist with space and furniture assessments; coordinate the delivery and installation of furniture; and assist in the coordination of moves. You will provide technical and administrative support to the planning team and must be proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, BIM, and Adobe Creative and assist in space data collection, analysis and report preparation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting in conducting accurate space assessments, including measuring, surveying, and evaluating current space utilization;
- Responding to day-to-day space requests, such as reallocating workspaces, adjusting furniture layouts, or addressing immediate space needs;
- Ensuring all deliverables and communication are clear, accurate, and timely for all stakeholders to ensure efficiency and accountability;
- Preparing recommendations to optimize space efficiency and ensure spaces meet organizational needs;
- Assisting in coordinating the delivery, assembly, and installation of office furniture, ensuring timely and accurate completion of furniture setups;
- Ensuring that furniture installations align with design specifications and space requirements;
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during the delivery or installation process;
- Assisting with coordinating employee, department, and office furniture moves to new spaces while working closely with teams to support mínimal disruption during moves and that spaces are properly set up post-move; and
- Tracking and documenting all project updates, space recommendations, and move details, ensuring all are well-documented and communicated effectively.

**SKILLS**:
You will have:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools for creating space plans and layouts;
- A strong understanding of office furniture systems, layouts, and installation requirements;
- The aptitude to collect, analyze, and interpret space utilization and occupancy data;
- Experience prioritizing, tracking and meeting deadlines on multiple projects;
- Skills in maintaining accurate records, including space plans, furniture inventories, and move schedules;
- The ability to assess space efficiency and recommend improvements;
- The capability to identify and resolve issues related to furniture installations, space constraints, or move coordination;
- The aptitude to interact professionally with faculty, staff, vendors, and contractors; often while working closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring mínimal disruption during moves or renovations;
- Familiarity maintaining and organizing files related to space planning, furniture coordination, and move logistics; and
- The ability to respond quickly to changing space needs and last-minute requests.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum of a certificate or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
- Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to a minimum of 2 years of space planning, facilities management, or related field.
