We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a 600+ team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability, we are Making Sustainability Happen.
**Job Description**:
- As our new Team Lead, you will manage a group of experienced and motivated professionals and collaborate with Team Leads from other disciplines and regions to advance the development of our ecological practice in BC.
Success in this role will depend on your demonstrated skills and experience in the management of staff in a professional consulting environment, as well as strong technical experience in developing practical solutions to address the characterization, development, management, protection, and restoration of ecological resources.
In addition to strong management and technical skills, you will also have experience working with clients in a variety of sectors to build teams, develop scopes of work, prepare proposals, and manage projects, meeting SLR’s high standards for quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- You will take on the full scope of project management responsibilities, including proposal, design, and ongoing coordination. You’ll also take on mentorship and leadership responsibilities with our junior team members, as well as field data collection, report writing, and client communication. Your role will include supporting existing large linear infrastructure projects at SLR as well as leading and developing new opportunities within the Lower Mainland for future land development, infrastructure, and construction projects.
We’ll look to you to bring in-depth knowledge and interest in aquatic ecology, with strengths in infrastructure development projects, environmental and compliance assessment and monitoring, environmental permitting, client liaison, and team leadership within provincial and federal regulatory frameworks.

**Key Responsibilities**
Manage the operations of SLR’s Ecology and Biodiversity team in Vancouver:
- Lead and mentor the team of ecologists, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Oversee team performance, providing guidance and support to ensure project goals are met
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
Manage and support projects within the Ecology discipline:
- Manage projects for clients, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Develop project plans, allocate resources, monitor progress, and manage changes
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project success
- Conduct senior-level technical work, including providing expert advice and solutions to complex ecological issues related to ecological assessment, permitting, monitoring/compliance, and restoration

- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices
Develop the Ecology and Biodiversity business in Vancouver and beyond:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base and project portfolio
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and bids for new projects
