**Overview**
This role is a key part of the product development team and works closely with designers and technical experts to build great products. These will be mass produced for large retail stores - many stores that you recognize

The focus of this role is to lead sourcing, costing, analysis, communicating, and implement improvements to the product. You’re a core contributor in the Request For Quotation (RFQ) process with retailers to support bringing high-value goods to customers.

As a member of the Midland team, this individual will work collaboratively with teams across the company leading with a direct and honest approach to solutions.

**Responsibilities**

In a typical week you will lead end-to-end procurement processes to build products for the market by sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.
- Participate in bidding process (RFQ) by preparing documents and information that strengthens the company’s proposal and helps secure product sales
- Work with suppliers to adapt existing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) products into enhanced products that meet our standards
- Maintain documents and data for tracking, and reporting
- Ensure requirements and standards are applied for all products
- Conduct market research to understand quality, materials, market trends and parts for selecting products and suppliers
- Identify and evaluate new international suppliers and sourcing opportunities
- Build strong relationships with suppliers through daily communications to ensure quality and production timelines
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize product value and supply chain efficiency
- Act as the main buying contact for clients and suppliers
- Be available for international travel for manufacturer visits/tradeshows

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related
- Minimum 3 years experience in sourcing and purchasing in retail or manufacturing environments
- Experience with bidding process (RFQ), and/or retail distribution
- Ability to make decisions on product parts to develop the best solutions
- Microsoft Excel intermediate-advanced proficiency level
- Background with retail buyers is a plus
- CAD or SolidWorks design programs knowledge is a plus

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
