**Job Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Source and aqquire used vehicles for dealership inventory, focusing on models that align with our customer base and sales trends.
- Evaluate vehicles accurately, considering **wholesale and retail market values** to ensure profitability.
- Assess the mechanical and body condition of vehicles to avoid unexpected repairs or reconditioning expenses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, auctions, and private sellers to secure high-quality inventory.
- Collaborate with the sales and service teams to understand inventory needs and align purchases with market demand.
- Ensure all acquisitions comply with Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (**OMVIC**) regulations and dealership standards.
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and customer preferences to make data-driven buying decisions.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Minimum 2 years as an auto buyer or in a similar role, with proven expertise in evaluating used vehicles.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of **wholesale and retail vehicle pricing** and market dynamics.
- **OMVIC License**: Must possess a valid OMVIC license.
- **Analytical Skills**: Ability to assess vehicle condition (mechanical and body) and estimate reconditioning costs.
- **Negotiation Skills**: Excellent negotiation and communication skills to secure the best deals.
- **Detail-Oriented**: Keen eye for details when evaluating vehicles for defects or potential value.
- **Team Player**: Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to meet dealership goals.
