Housing Administrator

**Reports to**:Director, Programs and Operations
**Fife House** is an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area. With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2020-2021, Fife House served more than 850 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs as well outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

**Fife House **is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the full-time position of Housing Administrator. The Housing Administrator will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative services associated with the operations of the Fife House residential program, Addictions Supportive Housing. The Addictions Supportive Housing Program is a partnership between Fife House and McEwan House. Staff at McEwan House are responsible for providing Case Management support to tenant of the Addiction Supportive Housing Program while the Housing Administrator is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure all tenant files are maintained with accurate and relevant documents such as leases, tenant disclosure agreements and etc.
- Ensure that all income reviews are completed, and rent calculations are completed accurately;
- Act as the landlord to tenants
- Recruitment of new landlords
- Sign all leases related documents;
- Liaison with landlords in resolving issues pertaining to Landlord and Tenant Board;
- Ensure all rent and other revenues are collected in a timely manner;
- Make sure that all tenants reimburse costs associated with repairs caused by tenant conduct;
- Fill any open units when they are ready in partnership with McEwan House
- Act as the first point of contact and respond to tenant issues and/or questions;
- Send out Notice of Entry letters to tenants;
- Circulation of Landlord and Tenant Board notices to tenants;
- Attend all Landlord and Tenant Board meetings as required.
- Ensure that Repairs are completed
- Ensure that semi-annual unit inspections are completed
- Ensure that rent payments to Building Management are completed
- Liaison with McEwan House staff around issues with tenants
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- College Diploma/Certificate in a relevant field of study with 2-3 years of administrative experience;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and meet set deadlines;
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and Ontario Social Housing Act;
- Extensive knowledge of housing/eviction prevention processes and practices;
- Demonstrated ability in the delivery of client assessment tools, goal setting, service planning and care coordination;
- Ability to work with clients who have addiction and/or mental health issues
- Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team;
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, for routine tasks, as well as the ability to leverage these platforms to create surveys and forms;
**ASSETS**:
- Experience in Housing Management and/or Administration;
- Experience with property maintenance;
- Experience working with Persons living with HIV/AIDS.
