**Position Purpose**:
This position will be part of the Distribution Centre and Transportation team which has responsibility for the processing of inbound and outbound shipments across the country. The Yard Controller will report to the Yard Assistant Manager and work closely with both our Transportation team and our Distribution team to ensure product flows efficiently in and out of the Distribution Centre, off-site yards and the main yard.

**Duties include the following**:

- Execute Dock Schedule
- Maximize dock door utilization and line load opportunities
- Maintain accuracy of Yard Management
- Communicate with Yard Shunters, Security Staff, Carriers and Operations to enhance dock efficiency
- Maintain Dock Office
- Resolve yard discrepancies. Proactively communicate within Warehouse Team and with other departments for issue resolution and process improvements
- Must be able to perform KPI’s, spreadsheets and administration tasks
- Must be flexible in working hours - overtime, vacation coverage, and off-shifts
- Must be comfortable spending time outdoors in the Yard during all seasons

**Experience/Knowledge Required**:

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods certified (will train as required)
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Attention to detail and accuracy, good time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills
- Experience with Yard Management Software
