At Merridale we strive to create delicious and intriguing craft cider and spirits that are handcrafted sustainably with integrity, curiosity and care at our family farm, and BC’s first craft distillery, in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Our farm is home to our Cidery, Distillery, Eatery, and Tasting Bar.

Would you like to live or work in the Cowichan Valley? Merridale is looking for a baking assistant that can also double as a line cook. That will bring forth innovative ideas and recipes that pair well with our ciders and spirits while honouring our values and brand. This is a full-time position, and if you join our team, your kitchen will be in the middle of an orchard surrounded by gardens and apples. Hours are mostly during the day, early starts available but some night hours could be required nothing later than 9pm.

Most of your shifts will be during the day. We offer extended health benefits, a competitive wage, shared tip pool ($8-12/hr), and perks.

- Working in the kitchen & bakery - Cooking, Cleaning, Prepping, Baking

- Experience on the line
- Experience with some sort of baking
- Be a self
- started, and able to work on a team -_We all help each other out_
- Be physically fit, - _You will need to lift heavy items such as a 50 lb keg_
- Carry a big smile and have an awesome attitude - _A positive outlook is everything_
- Don’t be afraid to ask -_the kitchen can be an intimidating place, if you don’t know then ask_
- Be able to multi-task _-_As a multi-faceted business, there is many avenues for growth_

Merridale is a cidery, distillery and eatery in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Our farm is a destination where we grow our apples, and make our craft products - cider, spirits, food and experiences for our guests. As a destination, we focus on tours, and events. We have been in business for over 30 years in the Cowichan Valley.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
