Shunt Truck Driver

**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Operate and drive trucks to transport goods.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of freight, adhering to weight limits and safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and plant managers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safety on the road.
- Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to maintain vehicle functionality.
- Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading freight.
**Skills**
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (Class 1).
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Expected hours: 40 per week
