**Payroll & Benefits Generalist**
Responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently and handling HR related administrative tasks. This role requires strong payroll expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments. They will assist with recruitment, employee records management, benefits administration, and compliance, ensuring seamless payroll and HR operations. This role is located at our 7 Green Acres Lane, Navin, MB head office.
**Payroll Administration**:
- Execute end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing for all employees, including but not limited to salary calculations, deductions, bonuses, overtime, and other compensation. (Manitoba)
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, employee information, and related documentation.
- Ensure all third-party payments; including but not limited to CRA Tax payments, health tax, etc. are processed and reconciled.
- Year-end payroll processing, including but not limited to PIER Review, taxable benefits adjustments, T4 adjustments and approval.
- Critical thinking skills and a willingness to double check your own work.
- Participation in all stages of an employee’s time with the company in relation to payroll, from onboarding new hires and activating them in the payroll system to issuing ROEs.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders promptly and professionally. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports as required by management, finance, and other stakeholders. Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis related to payroll data upon request.
- Utilize payroll software systems effectively to process payroll, maintain employee records, and generate reports. Collaborate with IT or vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system issues as needed.
- Participate in internal and external audits of payroll processes and records. Conduct periodic reviews of payroll procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
**HR Administration**:
- Administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, changes and terminations. This includes accurate processing and timely remittances.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on payroll and benefits related matters and self-service tools.
- Administer the applicant tracking system, including posting jobs.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support new employee orientation as well as off boarding processes.

**Education and Experience**:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, including year-end, preferably in Manitoba.
- PCP designation or working toward the certification or proven equivalence.
- In-depth knowledge of Manitoba payroll legislation, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software, Payworks experience is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365, specifically Excel spreadsheets, is required.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data independently.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- High degree of confidentiality is required.
- Proven results providing exceptional internal customer service to employees when administering payroll and benefits.
