The Valve Technician (Testing) is responsible for the testing of Aftermarket Services (AMS) valve equipment within the rental product line, while maintaining high standards of production, documentation and safety.

**Key position functions include**:

- Perform functional testing and calibration of various valve products (wedge, slab, plug, hydraulic, steam assisted and choke valves) by following approved production standards and work instructions
- Secure proper flanges, gaskets and bolts to the valves
- Grease and drift valves
- Complete appropriate paperwork
- Troubleshoot any failed valves
- Check mechanical assembles for proper functioning
- Read/interpret drawings in accordance with product testing and assembly
- Record non conformances as required
- Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand of any irregularities with valves or equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Organize and maintain the work area, including maintenance of equipment, product storage containers and racking
- Assist with shop housekeeping and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Afterhours availability when required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma
- Related valve testing valve experience is an asset
- Previous experience with wellhead equipment and oilfield industry is an asset
- Knowledge of Stream-Flo and/or competitor’s equipment is an asset
- A basic understanding of hand and power tool functionality
- Strong mechanical aptitude, a good work ethic and willingness to learn
- Forklift experience an asset
- Good communication (oral and written), organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
- Well organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
