Join our Human Resources team
**What it’s all about**:
As the HR Generalist, your demonstrated experience with HR best practices and relevant legislation will positively impact our Whitby Transportation and Warehouse teams. Providing effective HR support to Operations leaders and employees, this position will work closely to support Recruitment, Employee Relations, and key employee engagement and recognition programs.
**What you’ll do**:
- Deliver guidance and advice to leaders on legislative compliance and employee relations, policies and procedures, including performance management;
- Facilitate the onboarding of new employees;
- WSIB claims support for Whitby Transportation and Warehouse, including safe Return To Work programs;
- Support annual HR cyclical programs, including performance review process, compensation planning, benefits, etc.;
- Conduct exit interviews;
- Assist with special projects, company events, and other activities as required.
**What we need**:
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or comparable role;
- Working knowledge and understanding of Ontario Employment Standards Act and all legislative requirements;
- Solid understanding of HR best practices, Employee Relations, Labour Relations, etc.;
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Operations leaders and employees;
- Effective interpersonal skills and proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion;
- Demonstrated proficiency communicating sensitive messages, processes and procedures;
- Ability to coach employees and leaders through difficult situations, providing support through change;
- Strong time-management skills, and ability to multi-task required;
- Strong computer skills, and intermediate level skills using MS Office (Word, Excel) required;
