Are you an experienced line cook with a passion for Asian cuisine? We’re looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team at Off The Hook, a popular destination for food lovers on beautiful Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. In the summer we are a busy seafood & sushi restaurant and in the winter we pivot to a variety of weekend pop-ups (Thai, Indian, Chinese Dim Sum) so there is a wide variety in the food we cook.

**What We’re Looking For**:
- **Experience**: Solid background (5+ years) working the hot line in a fast-paced kitchen
- **Skills**: Strong organizational abilities, effective communication during service, and the drive to improve every day
- **Team Player**: Be a core member of a supportive, close-knit team
**Preferred Experience in**: Asian cooking techniques and flavours.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
**Qualifications**
- Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards within the food industry.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- A passion for meal preparation and commitment to quality service.

Pay: $19.30-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 32 per week
