Foremost Industries has an immediate opening for a full-time Welding Shop Foreman based out of our facility in Calgary, Alberta. The Welding Shop Foreman will report directly into our Plant Operations Manages. This welding shop position is focused on production welding, service and repair welding, prototype building, and fitter welding.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that OH&S regulations and the corporate safety manual are followed.
- Work with Safety to ensure that safe work practices are followed.
- Work with Quality Control to ensure quality requirements are being followed.
- Completing various tasks within our ERP System on the computer.
- Timecard review/approvals
- Closing of operation cards
- Reviewing hours to ensure targets are being met or exceeded
- Ordering materials through Materials Management
- Participate in weekly safety meetings.
- Organize & plan daily activities in the shop according to priorities and current shop workload.
- Identify and report maintenance items to their supervisor.
- Look for ways to improve efficiency, heighten quality and improve safety as part of the operation team.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correctly made to specification.
- Assist in the recruitment of new hires
- Manage the workforce, including training, supervision, discipline, performance reviews and daily tasks as required.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Journeyperson Welder with proven leadership experience such as supervisor, lead hand, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of various metal working equipment with a desire to optimize and improve.
- Focused goals for continuous improvement.
- Self-motivated, fast learner and ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
