The House of Sophrosyne is a Non
- Profit Organization that provides a variety of services to clients who struggle with addictions. We currently have services in Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia, and Virtual services. This program operates from our Adstoll office located in Windsor.

A little bit about the Peer Support Program:
Specific Responsibilities while in this role:

- Acquire accreditation status through Peer Support Canada

1. Engage and build relationships with clients who are referred to this program through Windsor Probation and Parole.

2. Assessment and Intake procedures

3. Support of clients in developing and implementing their recovery goals

4. Preparation and delivery of material for groups

5. Facilitation and co-facilitation of the groups. Provide resources and information which would support recovery.

6. Referral to other service providers and resources where appropriate. Assist members in accessing local community based resources.

7. Evaluation of clients’ progress. Documentation of client-member interactions in accordance with HOS policies, procedures, and protocols.

**Requirements**:

- Must be able to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must have lived experience personally or as a supporter in the mental health and addictions community
- Must possess a level of comfort and sensitivity in working with individuals who have mental health struggles.
- Willingness to share lived experience in a relevant and appropriate way, maintaining peer/client member boundaries, and ability to maintain professionalism and conduct.
- Experience providing peer support through volunteer or paid work experience. Experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of available community resources in Windsor Essex County and resources that will support the recovery process.
- Familiarity with the Windsor Transit System
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced judgement and decision making, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills. Crisis intervention skills are an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- First Aid/CPR
- Naloxone Certification is an asset.

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Days and afternoons

- Driving Licence (required)
