NextStar Energy (NSE) is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and Stellantis. NextStar Energy will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begin production at the site on over 200-acres of land on Twin Oaks Drive near Banwell Road.
The manufacturing facility is targeted to have an annual production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our Human Resources team for a **1 Year Contrac**t (with possibility of extension).
**Key Responsibilities**:
**New Hire Setup and Data Entry**
Enter new hire information accurately into the HRIS (ADP) system.
Set up payroll and benefits details, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Verify all necessary documentation, including work eligibility, tax forms, and other onboarding paperwork.
**Onboarding Coordination**
- Communicate onboarding timelines and required tasks to new hires before their start date.
- Ensure all pre-employment requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens) are completed.
- Act as a point of contact for new hires, answering questions and providing support during onboarding.
- Facilitate or assist with first-day orientations, including introductions to company culture and policies.
- Process Improvement and Compliance
**Maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and company standards.**
- Identify opportunities to streamline onboarding processes and improve the new hire experience.
- Ensure all onboarding activities align with company policies and employment laws.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in HR, onboarding, or a related field.
- Proficiency in ATS, HRIS, and payroll systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with new hires and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience with ADP.
- Familiarity with onboarding large volumes of new hires in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
