**WE ARE LOOKING FOR**

Bardel is seeking specialized TD roles to work closely and collaborate on an animated feature project with the creative and production teams. These roles would be responsible for resolving technical issues, providing solutions and support to the creative and production teams, and making technical decisions on their behalf to ensure the success of the movie.

**IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL**
- Assist the team with solving technical challenges related to their tasks.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to layout team on using tools and workflows efficiently.
- Create custom tools and scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve the layout workflow.
- Develop and implement strategies towards rigs, and environments that should be optimized with LODs, well-constructed, and meet technical requirements.
- Work with production towards strategizing plans for scene generation of shots with the help of Shotgrid.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure layout shots meet production requirements for downstream departments.
- Collaborate with other departmental TDs to ensure seamless layout transfer through the production pipeline.
- Communicate with production teams to estimate the time and resources required to handle related tasks.
- Update the Pipeline Lead about any distinct pipeline-related bugs that might stop the artists' workflow.
- Develop and maintain documentation for related tools, and the best practices.
- Provide training and support for artists on the proper use of tools and workflows.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- 4+ years of experience in Animation, preferably on feature animated projects.
- 4 + years of strong experience with Maya in supporting large environments.
- Experience with MASH (Maya).
- Good knowledge of Mel & PyMel.
- Good knowledge of PyQt, PySide and Qt for UI development.
- Experience with Renderman and/or other renderers.
- Experience with Shotgun and Deadline.
- Experience with at least one of the source control systems.
- Good knowledge of the department's workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**AND FOR BONUS POINTS**
- Experience with USD.
- Experience with Blender.
- Experience interacting with studio-based asset package database system.
- General Knowledge of other departments' workflows.

Salary Range CAD $1,600 - $2,400 / week. The Salary Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.
