**PURCHASER**

As our **Purchaser**, you will work closely with the Production Manager, experience challenges and rewards and have an opportunity to shape and influence our environment.

**We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies**:

- Grade 12 (OSSD) or equivalent education.
- Three to Five years purchasing materials experience.
- Experience in a steel manufacturing environment required.
- Knowledge of exotic materials a significant asset.
- Related certifications, courses or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is a requirement.
- A Supply Chain Procurement Certificate or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated positive attitude, initiative, the ability to work well with others and mínimal supervision.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is a requirement.
- Having a working understanding of the ISO 9001 quality management system is an asset.
- Willingness to learn new skills and desire to accommodate requests.
- Familiar with MS Word, Excel, ERP systems and ability to quickly adapt to J/E’s ERP system Job Boss.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent math skills are necessary for success.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to prioritize.
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Available to work overtime as business demand requires.
- Must provide a clean criminal record check upon hire.

**Your skills and competencies will help you**:

- Source and purchase all material and purchased parts for CNC, General Machining, New Machines/Equipment and assist with quoting as required.
- Utilize the ERP software to create Purchase Order Receiving reports, Material Planning and Stock Status reports.
- Responsible for raw material control, monitoring inventory levels/usage and costs.
- Pick all raw material to corresponding work orders (Raw bar stock, raw blocks).
- Has knowledge regarding the different grades/specifications of regularly stock raw materials.
- Work directly with Production Manager regarding min and max inventory stock levels.
- Acquire documents for QA as required by customers (material certs, product certification for FPI’s etc.)
- Ask for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) from vendors/suppliers for Health and Safety, in conjunction with the admin assistant, may help with maintaining SDS binders and electronic filing.
- Fields vendor inquiries and answers or coordinates answers and information as required.
- Maintain Supplier Performance Tracker.
- Review invoice discrepancies with the Finance Department and ensure all Purchase Orders are matching.
- Assist with developing and improving purchasing and scheduling processes.
- Attend employee communication and safety talk meetings as required.
