**PURCHASER**

As our Purchaser, your responsibilities will be to provide materials, goods, and services on time and in the correct volumes at the best price. This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, raw material management, and expediting to meet customer requirements and maintain inventory levels. This also includes compiling, verifying, analyzing and processing various relevant documents and reports.

**Your skills and competencies will help you**:

- Source and purchase all material and purchased parts. Assist with quoting as required.
- Utilize the ERP software to create Purchase Order Receiving reports, Material Planning and Stock Status reports.
- Responsible for raw material control, monitoring inventory levels/usage and costs.
- Work directly with Production Manager regarding min and max inventory stock levels.
- Acquire documents for QA as required by customers (material certs, product certification for FPI’s etc.)
- Acquire Safety Data Sheet (SDS) from vendors/suppliers for Health and Safety.
- Fields vendor inquiries and answers or coordinates answers and information as required.
- Maintain Supplier Performance Tracker.
- Review invoice discrepancies with the Finance Department and ensure all Purchase Orders are matching.
- Assist with developing and improving purchasing and scheduling processes.

**We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies**:

- Purchasing materials experience.
- Experience in a steel manufacturing environment required; Knowledge of exotic materials a significant asset.
- Related certifications, courses or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is an asset.
- A desire to pursue or having a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Designation is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent math skills are necessary for success.
- Willingness to learn new skills and desire to accommodate requests a requirement.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to prioritize.
- Must have a positive attitude, strong initiative, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is a requirement.
- Familiar with MS Word, Excel, ERP systems and ability to quickly adapt to J/E’s ERP system Global Shop.
- Having a working understanding of the ISO 9001 quality management system is an asset.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
