**JOB POSTING: SITE SUPERINTENDENT**

This role is responsible for the overall supervision of construction projects, crews and sub-contractors. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality approach to all employees, customers, subcontractors, general contractors, suppliers, consultants and owners. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with Bourgon Construction’s vision and must comply with all company policies and procedures. The Site Superintendent, in coordination with the Project Manager and VP of Construction, is responsible for identifying issues, designing, and carrying out policies and procedures that support the projects and initiatives of the company.

**Responsibilities**:

- Able to work with blueprints and prepare the layout of the project.
- Plan, organize and assign work to be done by own crews and subtrades.
- Ability to lead by example, educate, coach, develop and direct workers with specific, timely instructions and feedback.
- Monitor crew’s productivity, track hours for work performed.
- Check the quality of work along the way regarding specifications and building code.
- Lead the implementation, management and monitoring of the safety programs.
- Manage, receive and report materials on site.
- Manage the storage, security and maintenance of specific tools and manuals.
- Be a proactive problem-solver.
- Other tasks as required.

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of five years of work experience as a Construction Superintendent or Foreperson in the ICI sector, with demonstrated increased responsibility/supervisory work.
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHSA regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and technical skills with a focus on teamwork.
- Driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Clear criminal record.
- Good physical condition sufficient to meet the demands of the role.
- WHMIS 2015 certification, Working at Heights certification, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness.
- A Carpenter’s license is highly desirable but not required.

**Work Environment**:

- Loud and busy work environment.
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Standing and/or sitting for long periods of time.
- Difficult weather conditions, working outdoors and on site.

Bourgon Construction is a privately-owned, mid-sized regional construction company offering general contracting, project management and design/build services to clients located across Eastern Ontario. We employ 40 people working out of offices in Cornwall and Kingston. We typically focus on institutional, commercial and multi-residential projects in the $1M to $40M range.
