The Human Resources Generalist is a critical member of UL’s team in Canada. Based in
**St-Laurent, Quebec,** this HR professional will provide local and country-wide support to an employee population of 300. You’ll be a member of a global human resources team that focuses on service delivery and providing expertise in various areas such as compensation, employee relations, benefits, and employee development. You’ll partner with the HR Manager for Canada to analyze research data and providing responsive approaches to employee relations issues, HR initiatives, and corporate or divisional/affiliate programs and policies. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures for local and regional employee populations.
What youâll learn & achieve:
- Generalist activities may include: compensation, employee relations, benefits, and employee development issues.
- Acts as an HR resource for French speaking employees across multiple business groups and teams.
- Assists in the development of new or revised HR programs and policies by performing and summarizing research. May assist in analyzing research data or in developing program or policy features.
- Works closely with HR and Country management to ensure a positive employee relations environment. Listens to employee problems and may provide feedback to functional managers.
- Communicates with management and employees regarding Human Resources issues. Explains and interprets personnel policies, procedures, and processes as directed. Develops working knowledge of important legislation related to Labor Laws in Quebec and Canada.
What makes you a great fit:
- University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree) in Human Resources Administration is required or a CHRA.
- Two (2) years of professional level Human Resources experience is required.
- Bi-lingual in French and English fluency is required.
- Experienced in the development and administration of HR programs.
- Working knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and processes.
- Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts of all other functional areas of human resources including compensation, benefits, employee relations and employement law requirements.
