Barrantes operates residential group homes throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge and Guelph regions, while also delivering community-based and in-home services across Southern and Central Ontario.

We are currently seeking a **Behaviour Associate** who is passionate about empowering individuals in our Group Living programs. Full-time shifts are available for the following line schedules:
**Line 1**:

- **Week 1**: Sunday 7am-3pm; Tuesday-Friday 3pm-11pm
- **Week 2**: Monday-Thursday, Saturday 3pm-11pm
- **Week 3**: Sunday 3pm-11pm; Tuesday-Friday 7am-3pm
- **Week 4**: Monday-Thursday, Saturday 7am-3pm

**Line 2**:

- **Week 1**: Sunday 3pm-11pm; Tuesday-Friday 7am-3pm
- **Week 2**: Monday-Thursday, Saturday 7am-3pm
- **Week 3**: Sunday 7am-3pm; Tuesday-Friday 3pm-11pm
- **Week 4**: Monday-Thursday, Saturday 3pm-11pm

**Qualifications**:

- Bring compassion, commitment, and a strong sense of care to their work.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Have experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with dual diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and complex behaviours.
- Are capable of following Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Individual Support Plans (ISPs) as guided by leadership.
- Execute programming and intervention tasks as directed.
- Handle housekeeping duties and meal prep as part of their shift.
- Are knowledgeable in task analysis, prompt fading, and identifying behaviour functions.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable access to a vehicle.
- Hold current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Have a diploma or degree in a relevant field of social services.
- Can provide a recent and clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Carry vehicle insurance with a minimum $2 million liability and a current driver’s abstract.
- Have an updated record of immunizations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build positive, trusting relationships with clients in group home settings.
- Advocate for and support each client’s needs and goals.
- Implement behaviour management strategies consistently and appropriately.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages client growth.
- Respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Complete required clinical documentation accurately and promptly.
- Maintain open and regular communication with fellow team members.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Participate in ongoing professional learning through workshops and training.
- Respect confidentiality and privacy of clients and organizational information.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Respond safely and efficiently to emergencies, including behavioural escalations or elopement.
- Be physically active when required, including walking or jogging short distances.
- Assist clients physically when necessary, using approved Safe Management techniques.
- Remain attentive and mobile during long shifts.
- Perform lifting or support tasks safely, up to 50 lbs when needed.

**Education & Experience**:

- **Associate I & II**: Diploma or degree in a recognized social services program, or a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- **Associate I**: 1-3 years of direct experience
- **Associate II**: 3+ years of experience
- Training in behavioural management/modification and Safe Management Group certification are assets.
