**Summary**
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (Data Analyst) with knowledge and experience in supporting and assisting with Protected B compliant Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Deployment, Security and System Administration, in accordance with the Government of Canada Security Control Profile for Cloud-based GoC services. The resource will also be supporting the design, development, and the operationalizing of data analytics and machine learning solutions in the Cloud. CBSA is seeking to augment departmental resources in the execution of departmental Enterprise Data Analytics in Cloud initiatives managed by the Chief Data Office (CDO) team.
**Responsibilities**
- Consult and collaborate with the business and program areas to define/develop and document statements of data requirements.
- Develop, build, and maintain queries and/or write programs/scripts to extract and compile data from SQL and NoSQL repositories to merge and analyze data from various sources in order to conduct an analysis.
- Develop, build, and maintain queries and/or write programs/scripts to extract and compile data in a hybrid cloud computing environment.
- Perform data quality analysis and testing by matching or comparing data to appropriate data sources, validating accuracy, identifying, analyzing, and investigating root causes to data issues or problems.
- Interpret, analyze data results using statistical techniques and develop data visualization presentations to present findings.
- Analyze and mine data to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and correlations among the various data points.
- Define and document metadata for business values; defining, developing and documenting business rules and definitions of data attributes/elements, including and not limited to the development and updating of data dictionary.
**Mandatories**
- Hold a valid Covid-19 vaccine certificate for possible onsite work
- Hold a valid Reliability Status
- 10+ years’ experience as Business Data Analyst performing tasks for large organizations
- Previous experience working with the following technologies: AWS or Azure, IBM InfoSphere Suite, SQL scripting, R or Python, IBM SPSS, Power BI, and/or Tableau
**Assets**
- Previous experience with Analyse XML source data, Analyse JSON source data, Analyse Key-Value or Graph source data, and Model relational or dimensional data
