Program Facilitator

- Erin Mills Youth Centre (EMYC) is a youth-driven organization working at a grassroots, community level to promote the development of youth along with their families and communities. In particular, EMYC supports and empowers youth to advocate for themselves and their community in order to create a brighter future._

**Erin Mills Youth Centre is looking for a passionate Program Facilitator to lead a Male Youth Mentorship Program**

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Youth Programs**:

- Facilitate the planning, coordination and execution of programs and projects; this includes workshops, training, events, initiatives, procurement of guest speakers, recruitment, and retention of participants
- Complete and submit all required documentation; this includes program plans, participant attendance reports, program evaluations and all required reports.
- Complete and submit all required financial forms; this includes cheque requisitions, cash advance reconciliation forms, expense forms etc.
- Build community awareness to support the programs and mission of Erin Mills Youth Centre.
- Provide a safe, welcoming environment in which youth can develop skills and enhance their self esteem
- Ensure that youth are actively engaged in the program
- Set-up and clean-up program site and/or manage the online/virtual program space
- Maintain effective communication with participants, guardians, supervisor, and other staff
- Support Placement Students during and outside of program (planning, facilitation, interactions with youth)

**Ridgeway Community Courts**:

- Plan and promote activities on the Ridgeway Community Courts
- Work closely with the Program Supervisor during the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of all RCC Leaders
- Mentor and support RCC leaders and Placement Students by being present and active on the courts
- Support programming and initiatives that promote youth development
- Creatively respond to needs as they arise in the community
- Be available and present during community events taking place on the Courts
- Complete inventory checks and report needs to Supervisor
- On-call during weekends & evenings
- Liaison between RCC Staff and Program Supervisor
- Other responsibilities as assigned

**Social Media Support**:

- Work closely with Community Coordinator to create annual Social Medial Content Calendar
- Promote programs & events via social media
- Create engaging and interactive content and campaigns

**WHAT WILL YOU BRING?**

**Education & Experience**:

- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in a youth related field (e.g. CYC, SSW or equivalent).
- 1-3 years of experience working in a youth setting or social services sector
- 1-3 years of experience planning and executing community-based programs
- Availability during evenings and weekends is a must
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain) is a must
- High Five: Principles of Healthy Child Development certification (considered an asset)
- Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Outlook, Zoom Video Conferencing, experience with Canva is an asset)
- Strong social media skills - Instagram (incl. stories, live, reels) Facebook, TikTok etc.

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Demonstrated competency in youth engagement, program planning and facilitation
- Ability to create and deliver engaging, innovative and educational learning sessions
- Strong organization and administrative skills
- Detail oriented and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated group work, conflict resolution and problem solving
- In depth knowledge of the Peel community and organizations
- Ability to work from an anti-oppressive and anti-racist framework

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
All EMYC staff are currently working remotely with select days in-office. In the case of on-site work or community events, all staff are required to wear masks and pass a COVID-19 Screening.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
