North Vancouver, Canada Intellectual Disabilities Society Full time

Work with the vocational team to identify areas of concern and improve service. Provide

constructive input and recommendations to improve existing policies, procedures, and
protocols.
- Support individuals to locate and access employment and work experience opportunities

that meet their unique and evolving vocational needs.
- Act as a positive role model for community members, co-workers, and those you

support.
- Advocate for the meaningful inclusion and active participation of people with intellectual

disabilities within their community.
- Work with the vocational team to maintain a safe and healthy environment for those you

support. Monitor each work and recreational site to ensure that high standards of care
are intact.
- Coach and instruct individuals to establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle and

environment.
- Ensure that individuals have the opportunity to meaningfully interact with those who are

important to them. Facilitate the involvement of family members and friends in the lives
of the individuals you support.
- Respect each individual’s right to privacy and confidentiality.
- Assist in all aspects of general administration, report writing, record keeping, and

accountability of funds as requested.
- Actively practice the Values, Beliefs, and Future Directions of the IDS in an ethical, caring,

and professional manner
- Perform other duties as requested.
