As our LCT & LNG Advisor, you’ll effectively work at a hands-on, detailed level when working with sophisticated mechanical and system controls. You will coordinate contractors to safely perform maintenance activities. You’ll also use your ability to explain technical and hard-to-understand information in a simplified and professional manner, both verbally and in writing. In this role, you will:
Maintain work management systems to ensure the highest level of safety and reliability to FEI Low Carbon Transportation (LCT) customers
Be responsible for on-site quality control to ensure compliance with work-related maintenance processes
Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and development of service procedures and documentation
Complete field safety and service quality control audits
Become qualified as an LCT Technical Advisor (TA) for field and road Emergency Response
Participate in incident investigations from a technical support perspective; conduct root cause analysis and develop action plans to prevent future incidents
Provide oversight of costs associated with contractors, staff, facilities, vehicles, tools, and equipment
Act as the Subject Matter Expert for both internal and external stakeholders where LCT technical support and/or input is required; establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, contractors, equipment suppliers, municipal agencies, emergency response and environmental management personnel In year 1, you will:
Develop familiarity with the Work Management System for the site and operating assets and process invoicing for labour and parts
Complete technical reviews of LCT site equipment and mobile support assets and develop relationships with customers
Attend emergency response exercises to participate and observe
Understand the complete overview of essential warehouse control and responsibilities In year 2, you will:
Coordinate Contractors performing Preventative and Corrective Maintenance activities and join the LCT on call rotation for after-hours service call-outs and emergency response
Be involved with inventory planning, purchasing and control of LCT station repair and maintenance as well as LCT service parts and special tool coordination and control
Complete site visits for work performance overviews and on-site critical spare part inventory verification
Manage FEI and customer facilities access requests for contractors and purchase order requirements for new and existing contractor purchase orders What it takes:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma of Technology in a related discipline from a recognized program, Certified Member in the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC or a Professional equivalent.
5 to 10 years of utility operations and project implementation experience related to energy utilization systems including design, construction, repair and maintenance or training experience specific to LNG or CNG implementation, O&M and training material development.
5 to 10 years related experience in a leadership capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Strong mechanical, electrical and control aptitude
Strong electrical and control aptitude is an asset
Knowledge of operations management and performance measurement
Knowledge of operation, maintenance and construction process
Knowledge of LNG and CNG systems
Demonstrated ability to attend to emergencies and co-ordinate activities under stressful situations
