Interior Decorator

As a prominent Interior Design firm in the hospitality industry, McMillan Design is looking to grow their team to support the growing needs and changing concepts of the design world. We are currently looking for a merchandiser/interior decorator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the merchandising/interior decorating field. We are looking for a leader and mentor in design with great communication and organizational skills; someone who is looking for a challenge in our fast-paced studio. **Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with our design teams to complete décor and clutter packages on tight deadlines and on budget. This would include wall and floor finishes, lighting, furnishings, and décor
- Keep abreast of the latest design styles/ideas to ensure we are always one step ahead
- Create and develop visual wall art packages for restaurants ensuring each piece chosen contributes to the overall look and feel of the design concept for the restaurant space
- Source, order, schedule and procure packages for installation and shipment/delivery
- Design direction during installation
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Decorating or Visual Merchandising
- Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator etc.)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Sketchup
- Self-starter
- Natural leader - can manage both projects and a team
- Strong organizational, management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team; with both colleagues and clients
- Organizational skills - proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects, priorities and workflows on schedule and within budget
- Experience in the restaurant, retail and hospitality industry is a definite asset
- Exceptional ability to multi-task and float between multiple projects at any given time, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and creativity
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.
- Ability to prioritize workload

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
