Part Time, Casual 10 - 35+ hours/week (includes evenings and weekends) Salary range: $21.83 to $26.86 per hour

**Position Summary**:The Casual Worker will play a vital role in providing support across various caregiving settings, including nursing homes and assisted living environments. This position is suitable for individuals with a University Degree or College Diploma in Social Work or related fields, such as Addictions & Mental Health, Social Services, or Development Support. The Casual Worker will assist with daily living activities, conduct client assessments, and develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.

As a **Casual Worker at AYEC**, you’ll collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and interdisciplinary teams. Your communication skills, time management, and problem-solving abilities are crucial for handling caseloads and managing crisis situations. A positive work environment is essential.

**Essential Functions**:

- Provide 1:1 support to the individuals
- Conduct client needs assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Offer supportive counseling to individuals and families.
- Provide services within a person-centered care framework.
- Assist with prevention, intervention, and community awareness activities
- Implement workplan initiatives.
- Seek consultation and maintain professional competence.

**Qualifications**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in Social Work or related field (e.g., Addictions & Mental Health Diploma, Social Services Worker, Development support Worker).
- Knowledge of mental health and prevention strategies.
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and Mental Health First Aid certifications.
- Certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.

- Knowledge of community resources and ability to make connections.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case-noting systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid G License with access to own vehicle.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) certificate (within 30 days).

**Additional Assets**: Experience with addictions, knowledge of mental health disorders (including borderline personality disorder), and familiarity with trauma-informed care will be valuable assets for this role.
