**What can you expect from this position?**

Reporting to the Associate Director, Operations Delivery and Readiness, the Manager, Airport Work Authorization will lead and oversee the GTAA’s newly established Work Authorization process, excluding the Facility Alteration Permit. This role acts as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders to ensure completion of Planned, capital and all other work requiring permitting. Working in conjunction with the Interface Coordination Group (ICG) for deconflicting schedules.

The manager will focus on integration of new software to support work authorization, streamline process and procedures. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to support governance, contractor compliance, and Health, Safety, and Security oversight. Ultimately, the manager is responsible for the strategic and operational success of the Work Authorization process, holding final decision-making authority.

**As**Manager, Airport Work Authorization,**you will**:

- Implement and manage an electronic permit-to-work system, ensuring efficient tracking and control of all work activities.
- Oversee the comprehensive Work Authorization system process, including airside and terminal activity programs, to enable successful completion of all planned work.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Work Authorization system, liaising with system providers and IT to develop enhancements and supporting processes.
- Support and onboard new project managers and contractors, ensuring their understanding and compliance with Work Authorization and permit requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to internal and external teams on all Work Authorization procedures and processes.
- Develop and maintain the Work Authorization Pearson website, ensuring all information and links are current and accessible.
- Establish and maintain the GTAA Work Authorization governance policy, ensuring contractor compliance and conducting regular audits and reviews.
- Develop and manage a governance dashboard to track Work Authorization and Health & Safety (HSE) permits, ensuring compliance and providing critical oversight.
- Monitor and report on work progress, risks, and incidents, collating KPIs and presenting insights to senior airport leadership.
- Closely collaborate with the Interface Coordination Group (ICG) to minimize impact to operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop the team, fostering strategic clarity and empowering decision-making to drive flawless execution.

**This is the role for you, if you have**:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a management position with people leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders at one time.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in data and analytics, focused on translating system user data and KPI’s into operational recommendations.
- Project Management experience.
- Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with a high degree of tact and a demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
- Solid project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, coupled with strong prioritization, problem-solving, dispute resolution, and decision-making skills.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team, demonstrating an exceptional customer service focus and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight timelines.
- A post-secondary diploma in construction management, aviation, process management, communications, or equivalent relevant education.
