- Job Summary
- The primary purpose of the Research Coordinator in the CEDAR Brain Injury Lab is to coordinate the daily operations, maintenance, and research protocols.

Organizational Status
- The Research Coordinator in the CEDAR Brain Injury Lab is a part-time (3 days per week) position and reports directly to the Principle Investigator of the lab, Dr. Julia Schmidt, while working closely with the trainees, research assistants, and volunteers in the lab.

Work Performed
- Lab Coordination duties:
- Conducts the orientation, training, and supervision of research assistants and trainees- Oversees the progress of research projects- Participates in research activities including collecting research data- Work with Dr. Julia Schmidt to ensure daily financial operations are managed- Oversee daily operational activities of the lab including inventory and general organization- Work with trainees develop and troubleshoot research protocols- Write standard operating procedures for studies under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Julia Schmidt Troubleshoot processes within research studies- Analyze results and provide recommendations to supervisor when issues occur- Facilitate recruitment for studies through discussions and invitations to potential participants- Perform other related duties as needed or requested
- Consequence of Error/Judgement
- The general scope and direction of the research is under the jurisdiction of the Principal Investigator.
- This position works independently, reporting bi-weekly to Dr. Julia Schmidt during individual
- meetings and at lab meetings.
- Supervision
- This Research Coordinator will train and orient new trainees and research assistants. The Coordinator will also oversee undergraduate research assistants and volunteers in the lab.

Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications- Effective oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.- Organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to follow established guidelines and protocols- Ability to work independently or within a team environment- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail- Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities
