Thales DIS Canada is looking for a Data Industrialization Analyst to join Thales in Burlington, to support in leading & maintaining the Burlington Production Centre Data Processing & Operations department by utilizing the latest data management methodologies & techniques.
The purpose of this role is to help the Burlington Data Processing & Operations department in reducing time to deploy production configurations, in-turn decreasing possible mistakes/rework costs, and ensuring accuracy and reliability for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Methods Operations
- Create and continuously support requirements for Bill of Materials (BOM) for all customer portfolios.
- Lead the installation and validation of new customer data processing configurations into the production database and ERP system.
- Ensure production systems are setup to support production transactions to be accurately carried out in the ERP system.
- Asses and deploy common part grouping to improve production efficiency.
- Coordinate interface efforts between Project Managers & Production stakeholders to ensure customer specifications are correctly updated in the production database.
- Assist the Project Management team with planning and implementing customer and locally driven change requests- Analyze complex situations and problems and conduct the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions.
Data Processing Operations
- Support the daily processing of customer data to ensure the generated jobs and data are delivered to Operators & Logistics in-time to be able to launch production within the specified service level agreement (SLA).
- Contribute to monitoring the data processing dashboard to ensure tasks are running as per usual and any issues are resolved.
- Support the Production team with any ad-hoc or scheduled task in terms configuration set-up, test requests, investigations, and other routine support.
- Contribute in launching custom database reports to support internal and external customer needs.
- Assist in the development and deployment of any reporting or automation components required for successful project migration.
- Work with the operations team-members to identify opportunities for improvement & communicate thoughts to appropriate levels of management.
- Able to participate in a rotating & paid 24/7 production on-call support.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Engineering or Computer Science post-secondary diploma or degree is preferred.
- At least one year of experience as a data analyst-utilizing MS Excel & SQL script development.
- At least one year of experience working with an enterprise-level Database system (MS/Oracle).
- At least one year of experience working with an enterprise-level ERP system (SAP/Oracle).- Prior experience with SQL Scripting with a minimum 1000 records.
- Basic understanding of XML file purpose and structure (e.g. XML generation tools)
- Basic knowledge of IT systems and corresponding terminology (e.g. ERP/SQL/DSS/XML/OOP).- Basic knowledge in world class/lean and continuous improvement models.
- Ability to learn fast, work independently and desires to continuously learn, develop and improve.
- Open to working & training with others within the data processing & operations team.
- Forwards-thinking self-starter with strong planning, analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills in order to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels within the organization and externally with customers.
- Flexible working hours - contribute to rotating & paid 24/7 production on-call support; able to respond to after-hour emergencies.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience working in a data industrialization and processing, preferably in production-focused environment.
- Prior experience analyzing, reviewing, documenting and optimizing process/suggesting process improvements.
- Prior experience working in a development team of at least 5 technical analysts/engineers.
- Maintains or working towards an IT certification or certificate (system specific or area specific).
