Position Summary
Team Attendant
Your goal in this position is to contribute to the organization and optimal function of the Emergency Department working with the Emergency physicians, registered nurses and ward clerks to provide support to patients and patient care staff. You will be also responsible for contributing to patient flow and enhancing patient family centered care in the Emergency department. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work within a team and fast paced environment. You are able to establish and maintain patience, compassion and a courteous manner in relationships with patients, families, and co-workers. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.
On a practical level, you will

Transport patients to medical imaging and in-patient floors

Transport laboratory samples and specimens to the lab

Stock and complete light housekeeping of emergency department patient care rooms

Retrieve, replace, clean and monitor supplies and equipment.

Respond to emergency situations

Observe and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations

Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills

**Qualifications**:
High School diploma

Completed Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate required

Completed Personal Support Worker (PSW) from a College of Applied Arts and Technology preferred

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

This is a Part Time Regular position, 8 & 12 hour shifts, days, evenings, nights shifts, including Weekends in the Emergency Department. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which includes pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
