Scope of Position:
Under the discretion of the Leadhand and Welding Manager, increase company profitability by providing manufacturing departments with well-maintained equipment. Ensure quality and ability to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in solving maintenance related problems with minimum interruption to production.
- Perform all maintenance and repair work in either the plant or grounds as assigned.
- Ensure all weld quality specifications are met, by continuously monitoring the weld processes on the equipment assigned.
- Troubleshoot all aspects of the weld process as required.
- Assist in maintaining up to date documentation of all equipment. This includes documenting all of the changes to the equipment in MVP.
- Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program, and down time reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and completing the PMP checklists.
- Participate in development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
- Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services and equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions.
- Actively participate in the preparation of safety and operation procedures.

Basic Requirements:

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in a related field.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools is an asset.
- Experience with mechanical systems is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of welding process (GMAW).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem solving techniques.
