We are looking for dynamic, self-motivated, highly organized, driven and experienced Special Assistants to support Senators’ Offices in managing and prioritizing competing demands in a fast paced, results-focused environment. Your passion for excellence and quality service must be second to none. Successful incumbents will bring expertise in a broad range of administrative areas and must possess a strong ability to communicate effectively across numerous channels, demonstrate a high level of autonomy, and show high effectiveness in managing a variety of tasks and offering assistance to the public or other team members as required.

The general public to staff determinate and indeterminate full time and part time positions in Senators' offices.
Please note that “indeterminate” refers to an employment contract with no specified end date.
**Prerequisites**
- University diploma from a recognized university in political science, law, communications or any other field related to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- Experience providing general administrative and legislative services in an office environment such as writing formal correspondence, briefing materials and reports, formatting documents, organizing and scheduling meetings and managing electronic filing systems;
- Experience in dealing with senior officials, parliamentarians and the media;
- Experience in using the MS-Office suite and other systems supported by the Senate;
- Bilingual or English essential or French essential;
- Detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate and multitask competing priorities and timelines;
- Strong research, analytical and communication skills as they relate to policy review and legislative rules and procedures;
- Experience and aptitude working with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) is considered an asset.
