To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a Patient Food Services Supervisor to support our Patient Food Services at our Mount Sinai Campus.
The Patient Food Services Supervisor, under the supervision of the Director of Support Services, is accountable for the supervision and efficient daily operation of the Main Kitchen, Ware Washing, Diet office, Tray Delivery and kosher areas.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervises all main kitchen, dish room, diet office, tray delivery and kosher staff including, but not limited to, overseeing the main kitchen and kosher tray assembly, rethermalization and ware washing processes
- Replaces and disciplines staff as required, authorizing overtime and time sheets
- Prepares, maintains and distributes required reports
- Maintains inventory of all goods according to established standards
- Completes daily Food Stores orders and supervises the rotation of food items
- Completes Quality Improvement audits
- Conducts monthly meetings, updates job descriptions, cleaning procedures, completes employee performance appraisals
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of a college diploma in food and nutrition management or a related discipline from an accredited educational institution (CSNM or equivalent)
- 2-3 years’ of recent related experience
- HACCP Certification or Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Knowledge of quantity food preparation methods
- Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in CBORD, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Strong leadership and coaching qualities with the ability to engage, motivate and lead small to large teams, resolve team conflicts and work collaboratively to achieve overarching department goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to clearly define and articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and solutions
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment with mínimal direction
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; professional, diplomatic and confident with a proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
- Strong service orientation & ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
