**Salary**: $55,000 - $90,000/year (depending on experience)

**The Role**

**Key Responsibilities**

**Intellectual Property Management**
- Conduct prior art searches, patentability analyses, and IP landscape reviews.
- Manage the company’s patent portfolio, including filings, office actions, renewals, and correspondence with IP offices worldwide.
- Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and external patent agents to ensure strong, defensible IP protection.

**Legal & Technical Collaboration**
- Translate complex engineering and AI concepts into clear, precise patent language.
- Review and draft IP-related agreements, NDAs, and R&D collaboration contracts.
- Support compliance efforts with domestic and international IP regulations.

**Legal Technology Development**
- Partner with internal technical teams to define requirements for legal workflow automation tools, such as patent tracking dashboards and automated document generation.
- Provide domain expertise to guide data structuring, process automation, and UI/UX design for legal tech solutions.
- Participate in software testing and contribute to continuous improvement of IP management systems.

**Research & Compliance**
- Stay up to date on developments in IP law, AI/IT technology regulations, and patent best practices.
- Provide internal training on patent processes, IP protection strategies, and legal tech tools.

**Education**
- **Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any alternative technical field** (Electrical, Computer, Software, or related field preferred).
- Additional legal education (e.g., IP law, paralegal certification) is an asset.

**Experience**
- Direct exposure to IT, telecommunications, AI, or advanced hardware technology domains.
- Familiarity with WIPO databases, PCT filings, and competitive IP analysis.
- Experience in a startup, R&D-heavy, or technology innovation environment is a plus.

**Skills & Attributes**
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills with the ability to bridge engineering concepts and legal language.
- Proficiency in legal document management systems and patent databases.
- Collaborative and proactive, able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.

**Descriptif du role**

Nous recherchons un(e) **Spécialiste en Propriété Intellectuelle & Technologies Juridiques** disposant d’une solide formation technique et d’une expérience avérée en rédaction et dépôt de brevets. Ce poste unique combine la gestion de portefeuille de brevets, la rédaction de demandes complexes dans des domaines technologiques avancés, et la collaboration avec nos équipes d’ingénierie et de R&D pour protéger nos innovations en TI, télécommunications, IA et matériel de pointe.

Vous contribuerez également au développement d’outils logiciels internes visant à automatiser et optimiser les processus juridiques liés à la propriété intellectuelle et à la conformité.

**Responsabilités**

**Gestion de la Propriété Intellectuelle**
- **Rédiger et déposer des demandes de brevets de haute qualité**dans les domaines de l’ingénierie, des TI et de l’IA.
- Effectuer des recherches d’antériorité, analyses de brevetabilité et études de paysage concurrentiel.
- Gérer le portefeuille de brevets de l’entreprise (dépôts, réponses aux offices, renouvellements).
