**Director, Indigenous Business Education and Engagement**:
**Primary Purpose**:
The Director of Indigenous Business Education and Engagement will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies and initiatives that support Indigenous business education, Indigenous engagement, inclusion, and success in the Edwards School of Business, ensuring alignment with the strategic plans of the College and the University.

**Nature of Work**:
Reporting to the Dean, Edwards School of Business, or designate, this position works closely with the College’s leadership team and provides strategic guidance on all matters related to Indigenous business education and engagement, works to create an environment that enables good teaching and learning practices, as well as supports cross-institutional initiatives in Indigenization, decolonization and (re)conciliation efforts.

The Director of Indigenous Business Education and Engagement works collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, current and prospective students, other USask colleges/units, and community partners. This position serves as a representative in various University and community forums and develops personal and organizational credibility as a strategic partner.

The Director also requires an ability to collaborate effectively and forge beneficial partnerships with Indigenous Peoples of Canada, as well as an awareness of the culture and practices of those Communities. This position must be adept and highly effective in representing the School and University in many different settings before different audiences.

The incumbent requires an open mind, innovative thinking, good judgement, good communications skills, a proactive and creative approach, and a strong commitment to Indigenization, decolonization and (re)conciliation. The work is unstructured and priorities may shift based on environmental considerations. The work may be stressful given the high volume, resistance to change across the organization, complex problems, tight deadlines and competing interests.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:
**Strategic Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation**
- Works closely with Edwards’ Leadership to develop, implement, and annually review an Indigenous strategy, action plan, and tracking measures, ensuring that the College is aligned with the strategic directions of the University, Edwards School of Business, and importantly ohpahotân | oohpaahotaan: The University’s Indigenous Strategy.
- Works closely with Edwards’ Leadership to develop a people plan to integrate Indigenous engagement and recruitment into the College, increasing Indigenous engagement in current and prospective students, faculty and staff.
- Provides leadership in building strategies to facilitate the work of the College with respect to the development of academic policies, curriculum, and support programming.
- Supports the achievement of strategic priorities and annual goals, both internally and in collaboration with external partners.
- Identifies, adopts, implements, and monitors best practices in Indigenous policies, programming, strategies, initiatives, and projects.
- Engages in active learning and reflection of Indigenous cultures, histories, current realities, and challenges (e.g., socio-economic, political and educational) with the goal of continuous improvement and adaptation to emerging needs.

**Academic and Research**
- Applies knowledge of, and experience with, Indigenization, (re)conciliation and decolonization when collaborating with faculty and instructors to develop, review and revise educational materials to integrate Indigenous perspectives, content, and teaching methods into the curriculum for all majors and programs.
- Conducts, analyzes, and assesses research and completes high-level briefing notes, reports, and documents to advance college-wide and university-wide efforts to strengthen Indigenous knowledge and histories and contributes to decolonizing Western histories, pedagogies, and methodologies in the curricula.
- Supports the implementation of experiential learning opportunities that promote cultural competence, humility, and responsiveness in urban and rural Indigenous contexts.
- Supports Indigenous related research and scholarship, fostering a culture of knowledge exchange and innovation.

**General**
- Engages, fosters, and nurtures relationships with Elders and Knowledge Keepers; Indigenous and non-Indigenous faculty and scholars, teachers, staff, and students; and Indigenous communities and organizations to establish strong, meaningful partnerships and collaborations.
- Represents and promotes the interests and achievements of the College in Indigenous engagement across the university and Indigenous communities.
- Commits to the success of others through leading and aligning work with the vision and strategic directions of the University and the College.
