The Seasonal Labourer will gain experience across multiple departments by assisting our Roads, Parks, and Sewer & Water crews at different times throughout the year. The position will perform various semi-skilled and skilled labouring tasks including but not limited to cleaning, painting, brick and concrete work, mowing, trimming, sweeping, gardening, flagging and shoveling.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid “G” Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in grounds maintenance, construction, or labouring work
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools such as hammer, drill, saw, wrenches, sockets etc, preferred.
- Experience using and safe operation of equipment for brushing and tree-trimming, lawn maintenance and grass cutting equipment, and small tools preferred.
- Chainsaw certification considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to get along well with others including supervisors, co-workers, members of the public and other partners in service.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time. Ability and willingness to work in varying climate conditions.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Follows departmental operating policy and procedures, and provincial regulations regarding health, safety and work practices.
- Works independently and proactively to ensure work is processed quickly and efficiently and that deadlines are met.

**Hours of Work**:Various shifts in accordance with Collective Agreement.

**Salary & benefits**:Benefits in accordance with Collective Agreement
Wage $25.72/hr.
